This course is intended to help organizations communicate the application and risks of Artificial Intelligence in financial services and help educate employees on effective governance and compliance practices

Course Descriptions

The Canadian RegTech Association teamed up with INQ Law to provide this informative training course. The course is intended to help compliance and employees understand key concepts specifically introducing best practice processes to manage AI risk. The course is broken down into 3 parts

Part I

Provides an overview of AI applications in financial services; Benefits of AI, Challenges and Pitfalls as well as the status of regulatory developments in Canada

Part II

Delves into AI Risks and the essential components of an AI Governance Program

Part III

Introduces specific artifacts needed for a strong AI governance program and why its important, highlight any deviations from traditional compliance programs and explain what employees need to know to comply. Artifacts covered are: 1) Policies 2) AI Risk Assessment 3) AI Compliance Committee/Working Group 4) AI Training and Education 5) Ongoing monitoring 6) Notice and Disclosure 6) Vendor Due Diligence 7) Technical Robustness Testing

Carole Piovesan, Co-founder of INQ Consulting where she regularly advises clients on a wide range of matters related to privacy, cyber readiness and breach responsiveness, data governance, ethical AI and responsible innovation. Carole plays an active role in shaping data law, policy, and standards in Canada and globally. 

Donna Bales, founder of the CRTA and regular facilitator of our AI forums. She completed the Oxford Artificial Intelligence Program, University of Oxford in 2021 and has written a number thought leadership papers on the subject.
